PHT 320A: Advanced Digital Photography

COURSE OBJECTIVES
This course’s main emphasis is on the development and exploration of a personal vision and the creation of a digital portfolio. The work in progress and assignments will be critiqued regularly during class time. The rest of the class sessions will be conducted as workshops where the instructor will present on various topics, such as advanced color correcting and selecting, file management, color management, and the history of digital photography.

ABSENCES
If a student misses a class it is their responsibility to contact the instructor. If a student has three unexcused absences (a doctor’s note is required for an excused absence) during the semester, their final grade will be lowered a full letter grade. If a student misses a critique, they will fail that assignment.
PLAGIARISM
All work completed for this class must be the student’s own. Cheating on an exam, turning in the same assignment for more than one class, or turning in a plagiarized assignment will result in a grade of “0” for that assignment. A second incidence will result in a grade of “F” for the course.
TA SESSIONS AND LAB TIME
If you have never printed on a printer, you must set up for a TA session to be oriented on the printer you wish to print on. You may reserve time on the printers for 4 hour time slots every other day and 2 hour time slots on the scanners. If no one has a reservation and no one is currently printing on a printer, you are free to use it. The Epson 9800 is not available after 9pm unless there is an intern there to keep it open. When you are finished printing or scanning, always trash your files off of the computers attached to the printers and scanners and shut everything down.
